1997 Ford F350 Crew Cab Long Bed 4x4
This is a clean truck for the year. 460 V8 with auto. 10k miles on new HD transmission. Very straight body. Nice looking truck. No rust-through anywhere. There is surface rust in a couple spots where the paint has chipped. Those areas aren't even pitted. I have extensive undercarriage/underbody pics I can send also. Montana doesn't salt the roads in small towns. The frame, floors, cab, fenders, box, etc. etc. have no rust-through. It's very clean and dry underneath. All the details on the truck are below. Clear title. Clean carfax. I can help you arrange shipping if needed. I will store the truck for as long as you need to pick it up or get it shipped. Please read the payment methods I accept, before bidding. I have videos I can send also. They wouldn't upload for some reason.
Payment methods: I accept the $500 deposit on ebay. For the balance, I accept and prefer wire transfer. I use a local credit union and they know me there, if your bank wants to call them. I'll accept a check or cashiers check also. The check needs to clear before vehicle is picked up.
MECHANICAL
The truck runs and drives nice. It's straight as an arrow at 70mph and you can take your hand off the wheel and it stays straight. It doesn't pull, vibrate, or anything like that. It has the 460 V8, with HD automatic transmission. The transmission is new, with less than 10k miles. The engine runs nice and does not smoke at all. Starts up perfect every time. It has an engine heater but I'm sure it would start in cold temperatures. The engine heater is nice for really cold weather though. There are no leaks. There are no abnormalities. It had an oil leak when I bought it. I tightened up the oil pan bolts, and put some atp205 stop leak in it and it does not leak now. There is no water in the oil, or oil in the water. The exhaust is the original, and should be replaced. I was going to do it, but then decided to sell the truck, so the buyer can choose what kind of exhaust they want. The original catalytic converter is on there, and I'm sure it needs changed. The tailpipe is gone. It's not loud, and could be used, but I'd recommend a new exhaust. One exhaust manifold bolt is broken, so it leaks a bit until warm, and then doesn't leak at all. The 4x4 all works fine. The carrier bearing is new. This truck has 3.55 gearing, which is much nicer for highway/freeway cruising and better MPG's. Most of these trucks had 4.10 gears. The tires are new 285/75r16 e-rated. New center caps. The track bar bushings are new. No loose tie rods. I didn't put new shocks on it, but I'm sure that wouldn't hurt. All the lights work as they should. The heater and wipers work. All the gauges and dual tanks work. In case your unfamiliar, the f350's in this year came with the very stout Dana 60 straight axle. The f250's of the same generation came with a twin traction beam front axle that most people don't like. The only thing I would say that the truck needs is the exhaust, but it's usable as-is or with a new tailpipe.
BODY
The body on the pickup is very nice. The only dent is on the top of the hood. There are no other dents. I took pics of the truck in the light, and after sundown, to be thorough. You can see in the pics, that it looks nice and is very straight. The paint isn't perfect, but the truck looks really good. All the paint looks original to me. The clear coat has chipped off in places. No sign of any collision work anywhere. No overspray anywhere. Clear Carfax with no accident history. There is no rust-through anywhere on the truck. At some point stainless rocker panels were added. That's single wall metal, so I can see from the other side that the rocker panels aren't hiding any rust-through. The floors, cab, bed, fenders, frame, box, etc etc. have no rust-through, or anything close to that. Montana salts very little, and doesn't salt at all where I'm at. It's usually city intersections that get salt. The roof has NO rust. The paint is just chipped off in a couple spots. The glass is all in good shape. No chips in the windshield. The door glass is tinted and the tint has a couple imperfections. I'll take it out for you if you want. All doors and windows operate as the should. Tailgate and hood operate as they should.
INTERIOR
The interior is in good shape. It's clean and has no abnormal smells. The front seat is original, and has some wear/rip on the usual spot on the drivers side cushion under the seat cover. The rear seat has no damage. The headliner and door panels are in good shape. The dashpad has two small cracks. They do sell new dash pads, but the cracks are not really noticeable. The floor mat is all in good shape. This does have a remote car starter. I have not tried it out yet. I'm not sure how to work the remote but I'm sure the owners manual is online. The CD player sounds nice and it looks to have aftermarket speakers. The pics tell the story of the interior I think. It's not perfect but looks to have been used but not abused
